It’s been a very long time that I want to learn Indonesian with a native Indonesian teacher. Actually I’m an American, but I’m half breed. My mom is an Indonesian and my dad is an American and our family is planning to stay in Indonesia for around 3 years so I have no choice but to learn the language as soon as possible.

I remember that when I was a kid I could speak Indonesian language quite well. At that time I was still living in Indonesia with my grandparents and I entered Indonesian school and I studied there for almost 3 years. But when I moved to the US and had to speak English every day, I gradually forgot my native language.

Why I want to Learn Indonesian Language

I love Indonesia so much. The weather is very fine and warm and I’m still in contact with my Indonesian friends. So when I heard that I’ll be relocating to Indonesia again, I’m very happy and excited! I’ll be able to see my friends again and eat Indonesian food again my grandparents used to cook them. My favorite Indonesian food are fried rice, fried noodle, yellow rice and sour soup. I really miss Indonesia!

There are so many plans I want to do in Indonesia once I’m there. Firstly, I want to go to beautiful places such as Bali, Lombok, Jakarta, Bandung, Semarang, Surabaya, Bromo, and many more. When I was still staying in Indonesia, I didn’t really have a chance to go to those places and so I think this is a very good opportunity for me to go to those places while I’m staying in Indonesia again. I think I want to stay for a few weeks in Bandung, then a few days in Jakarta and Semarang, and may be only 3 or 4 days in Bali and Lombok. I’ve been fascinated with the beauty of the island and I’m wondering how beautiful the island really is.

I Must Learn Indonesian Language

My parents told me that I’ll be living with my grandparents again as their house is really big. They have a 3-storey house with lots of big rooms so our family can stay there for free if we are in Indonesia. Being able to speak Indonesian is very crucial for me because I want to be able to communicate with the locals. I’m sure Indonesian lesson is not difficult at all and studying Indonesian would be my utmost priority from now on.

At first we were thinking of staying in Jakarta or Yogyakarta, but the pollution and traffic jam there really makes me sick! Not to mention the heat as well. So I’m considering staying in Bandung. Yogyakarta is a beautiful city but too bad the weather is just too hot for me as well. Maybe I’ll visit Yogyakarta too as it is a nice place to go to to see the culture of the Javanese.

I’ve been learning Indonesian language online too for nearly 2 months but I still want to study Indonesian even more and can’t wait to go to Indonesian school to learn the language again. I really want to learn Indonesian language now!
